Risk and Mindset
Module 17 — Building a Trading Mindset
The market will pay you for patience and charge you for impulse. Most beginners lose not because their analysis was poor, but because they could not wait for the conditions their analysis required.
- Accept losses as a cost of doing business, not as a personal verdict
- Judge yourself on process, not on any single result
- Never increase size to recover a loss
- Keep a journal — screenshots, reasoning, outcome, lesson
- Stop trading for the day when you notice you are chasing
Professional trading is repetitive and often uneventful. If your trading feels exciting, you are probably taking too much risk.
Key concepts
- Patience protects decision quality
- Discipline makes a process repeatable
- Emotional control prevents escalation
Practical example
After two impulsive losses, a disciplined trader stops, reviews the journal, and returns only with a clear plan.
Common mistake
