Part Two — Classifying Levels
Chapter 3 — Minor Support & Resistance
Minor levels satisfy the official definition but on a small scale. Price reaches, changes direction and continues — briefly.
- Weak reactions — a short pause, a small pullback, then the move resumes
- Temporary turning points — visible on lower timeframes, invisible on the daily
- Short-term decision areas — useful for management, unreliable as standalone entries
Illustrative example
How InstaSwich uses minor levels
Minor levels are used for context and for trade management, not for conviction. They tell you whether a move is progressing cleanly, where a partial target may sit, and where price is likely to pause. They are not a reason to take a counter-trend position.
Key concepts
- Minor S&R creates small reactions
- Lower-timeframe context matters
- Minor levels help management more than conviction
Practical example
An M5 pullback level may pause price while the H4 trend continues unchanged.
Common mistake
Taking every lower-timeframe pause as a major reversal.
